		GCC-2.5.8 for IBMRT running AIX-2.2.1
		=====================================

The file gcc258-bin.tgz is a tar archive compressed with gzip of the
gcc binaries for AIX 2.2.1 on the IBM RT PC.

This archive is made available by Christopher Michael Simison
<simison@owlnet.rice.edu> who used patches made by Juergen Weiss for
GCC-2.3.3.

The sources can be obtained from prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu/gcc-2.5.8.tar.gz
The patches can be obtained from ftp-rt.matheth.polymtl.ca:/pub/gnu/src/
gcc258-src.tgz (in the near future).

When installing the binaries place them in /usr/local.

A word from Christopher Michael Simison <simison@owlnet.rice.edu>:
Something that should be noted about this distribution of binaries is that
it contains fixed include files (the make automatically fixes includes now).
However, these include files are from my system, which is at update level
1779. These files may not be backward compatible with any other revision
level of the OS. I would strongly suggest to people that they compile GCC
themselves.

Debbuging does NOT work (i.e., DO NOT use -g flag). Objective C SEEMS to work
but has not been tested extensively.
And yes, there might be lots of bugs.

This is presented "as is" without any expressed or implied warranty even
